Amper here!
Hiya! There was a call during the Proudmoore show for more participation in the forums, so here I am.
Name's Amper (or "Jaime" IRL) and I've been playing WoW for about two years now. I started playing "For Science!" I'm a PhD student at Colorado State. The research that pays the rent involves building custom research games to better understand how people communicate and behave in groups in virtual worlds (including MMOs). My own research involves how WoW players have relationships with their avatars and how those relationships can provide insight into how people have relationships with technology in general ... and then how those relationships contribute to an emergent sense of "Se;f." (A mouthful, I know.)
My main is a BM hunter on Destromath, and I also have a hunter, mage, lock, and pally on Tichondrius. For the Horde!
I was interested in xmog before (I mean, I study avatars after all), but didn't really get into it until I stumbled across Keelhaul on Twitter. Now, well, it's a bit of a sickness. I struggle a bit to piece together the 'perfect' suites because I don't have a ton of time to run dungeons with fingers crossed, but I do love competing and lookin' good.
